Touch screens | How it works

The touch panel consists of three layers. The external layers constitute of one-sided ITO film or ITO glass conductors, with the conductor surfaces put to oneselves. The microscopic spots (0,035mm), which prevents the automatic contact of the conductor surfaces, function as a divider (the central part of an insulating material). Touch brings about the electrical contact between the conductor surfaces. Measurements are typically made by applying a linear voltage gradient across the touch screen layers. At a time of electrical contact, the control system registers the applied voltage and sends the information about the touch place coordinates to the system. Assigning the place of the touch to the function currently displayed on the screen as well as the reaction of a device to the users` actions occurs.
